I got this laptop 2 weeks ago and I'm loving it. I went for the 4K display. In the first few days I was unsure whether the display which is quite shiny was right for me. I considered going down to the WQHD. My previous laptop a T520 was FHD so it took me about a week to adjust to it and I'm glad I did. Now I'm truly amazed at the display. It's so crystal clear and amazing and the glare is not a issue so much. Go for 4k!

**Clarification** Last year's model, the Gen 7 did have quad speakers but a major complaint with previous X1 Carbon models was their poor speaker quality. Lenovo rectified this issue last year by upgrading to a quad-speaker setup. Now sound comes from dual speakers on the deck and two more underneath the laptop.

I’m so impressed with your unboxing and reviews. I thought you did this full time. I’m planning to start a channel in the next couple months. I only hope my reviews are as sharp. It’s really great to watch your channel grow.
I personally love Thinkpads, but of the X1 line, the Extreme is my favorite, then the Yoga. I think if you’re going to pay that much for a laptop, it should have a touchscreen option. I also wish the Control and Function keys weren’t reversed. It’s really confusing using my work computer for the 10 hours with the keys in the right place, then going home to them in the wrong place. I also think for the price, the webcam should be 1080p. The HP Spectre x360 15T has one. Dell, Lenovo, Apple, etc., don’t have any excuses.

No AMD Ryzen, no WQHD at 400 nits and no 16:10 screen ratio. Disappointing.

Hey, Andrew. That's a really nice offering that Lenovo has provided. That display does look lovely. I'm quite curious about its metrics. Perhaps the one thing that may interfere with work flow is that odd placement of the Pg Up and Pg Dn keys smack above the left and right arrow keys - I'd likely have quite a few typing accidents for quite a while. For a gen 8 they should have gone with DDR4 Ram. Looks like the only diff between the gen 8 and gen 7 is the wifi card and the speakers. Really not much of an improvement. But love the X1 Carbon.

Annoyed with the soldered on RAM (I know that's been the case for this line for most if not all of its life). Really anxious to see the new Extreme model though.
