King Mahasen - The great tank builder (276 - 303 CE)

A short note for middle school children to learn about another great King of ancient Lanka. King Mahasen of Anuradhapura also known as the Great tank builder is considered to be the first King to build large reservoirs in Lanka . He had built 16 large tanks. This was the first time such large scale tanks were built after the great King Vasabha who started building medium to large-scale tanks.
