Housing affordability continues to struggle as Utah's economy grows

Despite inflation, Utah's economy experienced growth in 2023. While this achievement is commendable, there are still hurdles to overcome for sustained economic success.

Phil Dean, Chief Economist from the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, said key issues need to be addressed to ensure Utah's economic vitality in the coming years.

According to Dean, the trajectory of inflation is expected to decrease, offering a positive outlook. However, he cautions that prices are unlikely to return to the levels seen five years ago.
