Bass recorder player reacts to Davie504 | Team Recorder

This week I started getting a lot of messages... Team Recorder was on a @Davie504 video! He gave the bass recorder a score of only 2/5.... is he right, and what about the rest of the bass recorder family ?!

This was fun. I played clarinet up through the end of high school. I was OK but never amazing and left my clarinet home when I went to university, but I picked up a recorder to have fun with in my dorm room and loved it. I got better at it than I ever was at the clarinet, because I only ever wanted to play Celtic folk music anyway. I am old now and also have enjoyed 6 hole wooden flutes, penny whistles, and harmonics. I am not a professional, or even a talented amateur, but playing brings me a joy that I don't get anywhere else.

Holy shit, that "slapping" adds a very rythmical feel to the recorder that I'd never seen! Even though I wouldn't call it a slap per se, I'd consider slapping because of that percussiony bassy feel, that shit's great. And you guys are fucking beasts, that mouth slapping, goddamn

Wow, I can't believe what talent you can display on the contra bass. Never in my life have I heard sounds anything like that. The percussive slapping sounds like african percussion. Thank you for sharing it with us.
