More Americans are having to choose between food and energy bills as the price of electricity rises. The cost is based on many factors, but one stands out from the rest — and is likely only going to make matters more complicated and expensive.

My energy bill went up a little, so I turned the thermostat back in the winter and up in the summer and I was able to keep it the same and still live. Some people just don’t know how to deal with it others do.

Renewable energy will only make the problem worse. Wind and solar facilities won't be able to handle the needs of residents so power companies will have to resort to fossil fuel powered sources anyway. This in turn makes people's power bills even more expensive. At best, we need to use nuclear power since that will provide abundant amounts of cheap energy.

Green energy (solar and wind as defined by the tree huggers) costs more than fossil fuels because we still need to have enough plants (fossil and nuclear) to provide for peak demand on days when the green energy isn't available. So we pay twice.
