I remember when my car had a timing chain failure and bent a bunch of the valves. Most repair shops wanted to sell me a whole new engine for upwards of $10k+ (including work time), wouldn't show me the extent of the damage, wouldn't offer me any other options besides a new motor. Ended up finding an old timer that rebuilt farm equipment. He pulled it apart down to the bottom end and did a full inspection, called me out to come take a look, showed me what was unrepairable and what was, gave me multiple options to go with and even offered to do some stuff for free or discounted cause he'd already be pulling the stuff apart. Showed me all the equipment he had to do everything in house such as grinding the new valve seats and valve guides, decking the heads, etc. He did the job including new valves, valve guides, timing chain and bottom end work for 4500, kept me updated on any setbacks or changes in plan he even kept all the receipts and packaging from the parts to show me he'd used OEM parts. 50k miles later and she's still going strong. I wish there were more mechanics like you and that old timer.

Bro! Firestone put a new engine in my car, but forgot to take the old one out. Now, it goes twice as fast. Thanks, Firestone!!!

Last time I went to Firestone, they said I needed the whole a/c system replaced, front and rear brakes with rotors, major engine mechanical work, all for a total of $4, 679.26, and I just laughed at them. When I asked them to please take me out to the truck and show me these issues, they refused. About a year later, this particular Firestone botched an oil change and cost a lady a motor in her Cadillac and they went out of business a couple months after that. The lady sued Firestone for the damage to her Cadillac, they denied any liability, and the bad publicity that followed killed Firestone for good.

Wish all mechanics were as honest as you.

My biggest motivation to becoming a master technician is not having to go to bad mechanic shops.

I’m so thankful for being able to work on my own stuff and not get taken for a ride with stuff like this.

Friend of mine who either walked with crutches or was in a wheelchair. He was a clock maker, and a lock Smith. He drove a large luxury car. Took it in for something. They told him he needed an air filter. He told them: *"I replaced that last week!* He caught them red handed!

Kudos to Alex for exposing these corporate fraudsters.

All it takes is a brave + honest + outspoken man like you to say it and call them out like it is to show their scamming way of doing business... well done. Now we need you to come to Christ (if not already) and preach the gospel so God can use you to expose false teachers 💯🔥 Dios te bendiga 💪🏽

Firestone had us techs recommend the most ridiculous upsells on customer vehicles. Tires with nails that could be patched, nope. The advisor would tell them it wasn’t repairable to they’d have to pay for a new tire or they’re little warranty fee.

I’d see brake pads with a chunk of pad material left on them, my first week I was passing them off as good to go. I got caught in my second weed and was told at a 7, we recommend pad replacements here.

Coming from dealerships and independent shops, Firestone is a joke in the industry. I did not last long there.

I was working as a gas station mechanic, we didnt sell tires. Firestone was down the block. This 50ish year old man, comes in totally frazzled. Big Lexua SUV. He says he driving in a hilly freeway, and he went to switch lanes, and the SUV hopped over 3 lanes, almost fell I to a ditch. I ask him, who touched it last? Firestone, four tires and an alignment. So I rack it, run my inspection. Both ride height sensors, broken. And the worst NO, NO of All, they clearly removed the steering shaft from the knuckle, to adjust it over a few degrees because they couldn't get the steering wheel straight. And the ride height sensors, which were snapped.sent the hydraulic suspension into limp.mode (default, no adjustments, no operation. )& I really think, it's all management/corporate greed.

They charged me $800 to change my spark plugs and then did an oil change and left off the cap. Lost 1/3 of my oil and everything was covered in my engine bay. They did nothing and I took it up the ladder as far as I could go to corporate and they still wouldn't do anything.
