Hey guys the Fire Brothers here and today I have some not so good news for Transformers One as of right now, while its still a little early to say if the movie is a flop or a success... we have the first numbers for the overall performance of Transformers One at the box office, while its not looking good... its not bad either. A lot of people had been in a bit of a panic yesterday due to some of the numbers that have been released as part of the movie's first two days out in theaters, while the numbers are less than the Bumblebee movie and likely affected by a limited release worldwide, there has already been a lot of speculation and blame being thrown as a result. People are blaming the marketing, Lorenzo, the day of the release, and reserving the movie's released for some territories. Truth be told, the movie only needs to make a certain amount of money in order to be considered profitable. However, we are still not sure if the movie will be able to reach that number with a somewhat lackluster start despite the incredibly positive reviews. Hopefully good word of mouth and the toy sales save this film because Transformers One is a pure S tier Transformers movie through and through. Definitely belongs in the quadrinity of TF movies which is 1986, 2007, ROTB and this.

FIRE, LISTEN. They could pull a spider verse, where it does actually kinda bomb, but then when the second movie comes out, it becomes one of the biggest cash farms for hasbro! We have to be optimistic or else we will lose this chance.

Calling it a "flop" is a massive reach. First of all, the number two spot is not BAD by any means, especially for a Transformers movie, which already suffers from franchise fatigue, thanks to the Michael Bay movies, especially the last two. Bumblebee and Rise Of The Beasts felt that same wrath! Second of all, less people go to the cinema altogether these days. You can't compare those numbers to 10 years ago. Thirdly, not everyone goes to see a movie at the same time, so judging a movie's overall success by the first weekend is dumb. Allow some time for word of mouth to do its work too. Fourthly, the marketing outside of the States has been SUPER WEAK (except in the UK). The movie doesn't even open in most European countries until the 10th/11th October.

So let's see what the results are a month from now and THEN judge.

I feel like one factor people don’t take into account for box office is movie ticket prices.

$15 per ticket is pretty steep. Maybe not for one person, but if you have a family of 4 with two kids. That’s almost $60 for one movie for a family. That doesn’t even include drinks or food. Especially when movie streaming is a cheaper alternative.

My little brother (Major TFP fan) and my little sister (only seen TF movies) went without me and they came back with them being excited by the movie so I think it's the marketing failing the movie and not the movie.

Can't call it a flop yet. Was expected to open around 30mil and it opened at 25mil. It underperformed a little but not massively or anything. And like fire said it's only been 3 days and it hasn't even came out in a couple big markets
