How The Owl House Pilot Became A Lying Witch and a Warden

This is a long overdue video admittedly, but better late than never lol. So a while back. So a while back, several Disney TVA pilots were leaked online, including the Amphibia and The Owl House pilots. I already made a video on the Amphibia pilot (Amphibiland) over a month back. However, I actually think The Owl House pilot has the most interesting differences compared to the final version of the show's introduction.

You know, if Dana decided to keep the numerous doors to other worlds in the final product, then the finale would’ve had an Avengers Endgame final battle.

Something to take into account about the pilot is the statement by Dana Terrace that, because the pilot was never written with the intention of it _exactly_ being the actual first episode, a lot of ideas were put into it that they never planned on keeping for the actual series. As a result, there is ambiguity as to whether any given difference between the pilot and the series is something that genuinely changed during the show's development, or is just an idea that from the start they never intended to keep. However, this ambiguity is somewhat mitigated by the pitch bible that was leaked at the same time as the pilot, since its contents helps to pick out the ideas from the pilot that really were part of development.

Man, i really loved the pilot hell of a lot more than "A Lying Witch and a Warden". Mainly because how well consistant it felt throughout compared to the final result. Like, we get a proper introduction to the Boiling Isles with more setups. Not to mention it's more clear message. Also, i still can't believe that Willow was once named "Paulina" and Hunter as "Sir William"

Seeing that leak pilot was definitely a surprise but I really liked it though I do wish we actually got it in full animation version like the gravity falls one when that was leak rather than storyboard but that's a net pic still If the Disney wasn't meddling in the show production and canceling it I wondered what the final product would have looked like🤔

I think the creator of the show had the idea for this cartoon after watching a season of Pokemon Sun and Moon.
All that was left was to make the Boiling islands more Hawaiian and for Luz to face creatures of other dimensions

Boy there are a lot of stuff I wish they shouldn't keep and some of the animation is so smooth

for me I kind of like it there were some things I did not like and I’m kind of glad they change it in the show but overall it was OK it’s already with universe of the owl house and amphibia pilots how their stories are different and how they’re almost become the same thing you know but still I am so thankful for Mac Brawley Dana tower and Alex Hirsch and the people who work on the shows the voice is the artist the story your name it of Karine awesome shows and I hope I see more of them in the future 😊😎🌲💫🦉🐸

I think both the Pilot that was leaked and ALWAAW were both good in their own ways. Here is what I liked about the pilot and what I didn't

Liked

We actually see Luz struggle to fit in, instead of the show hinting at it. ALWAAW had Luz do more extreme things like bring an explosive to school, which the show just glossed over.

Lilith has more of a connection and is introduced early on.

The Isles has some notable prejudice against humans, and I wish the series explored that more.

Disliked:

The idea of a human exchange program. I know we only have one episode to go off of, but if prejudice against humans exist, why send your kids there. Seems especially weird if Amity's parents are just as high and mighty here. I do have some theories, maybe Belos was going to be more of a conquerer like Andrias, or maybe Amity wanted to defy her parents and went against her wishes.

The idea of multiple portals. Like teleportation, having multiple doors to multiple realms just makes the idea feel less special. I prefer the final concept in canon where Titan Blood causes rifts, allowing crossings between the two worlds.

If Amity went to Luz's school, did that mean that Amity was initially 1/2 witch and 1/2 human? Which of her 2 parents would be human?

The original storyline and the series we got do share both similarities and differences, but with the way the pilot was presented, could it be possible that the main characters powers could have differed as well in the series finale of both shows or would they just have different designs 🤨. Plz let me know, I can't be the only wondering.
