Thank you for your videos!! You make it so simple. Most videos on youtube are too difficult for middle school students. I've been using your videos for remote learning! It's been so helpful!

Artificial selection or selective breeding is very helpful in human life specialy for farmers, for example the farmer in the video breed two big chicken so they chicks will ganna be a highbreed so the farmer will sold it in expensive cost.

However everything comes at the expense of something, no loss - no gain.
bigger plants/fruits may use more of the soil resources, so in the long run, the field could fail if not properly managed. (especially crops that are heavy feeders deplete the soil of nitrogen and minerals quickly)
managing better would be, for example, crop rotations, returning carbon and compost to the soil, etc.
This problem doesn't exist in the wilder varieties, which are immensely large scale. though they are less edible, smaller edible part, harder to gather, etc.
so smaller scale, organic farming with selected varieties is fine. but for larger - it would require resources and energy or manual labor. of course there's nothing wrong with manual labor
