LOST & ALONE: We Should NOT Have Done That! | Sailing Australia

Being lost is not something we are used to. Especially after 25,000nm and sailing half the World. However it appears that our ability to navigate oceans is not matched by our ability to hike through forests. So after a few hours, we find ourselves pretty lost in the rainforest.

Hey there! We're Nick and Terysa and we’ve become completely obsessed with the idea of sailing around the world and sharing our experiences and information through our sailing lifestyle videos with others.

We met travelling around India, and quickly agreed that rather than “settling down” and doing what most normal people do, we wanted to travel and adventure instead and started our sailing lifestyle adventure stories, since then, we’ve been working hard towards achieving our dreams, and now we’re finally living them as sailing cruising lifestyle!

We hope you enjoy what we do. Please subscribe, like and share.

One of my favorite activities. Bush whacking! Especially in a country that is known for having 11 of the 10 most deadly spiders.

Love how Terysa's Aussie accent is getting stronger each episode. I have the same issue when I go back home to Melbourne from Thailand.

Yes on the peanut butter and apples, with a touch of celery salt.

I wonder why Nick prefers anchoring rather than mooring buoys? I (as a charterer, not a liveaboard yet) prefer mooring buoys as they give a more stable position, don't need to worry about anchor drag or that the boat may swing onto another yacht which may arrive after you've anchored and gone ashore

An explorer who never skins his/her knees is no explorer at all. Love your willingness to expand boundaries.

Apples and peanut butter are definitely a thing in my upbringing here in the U.S., as well as with banana spears. Also, try whipping in some honey or sweet molasses with the peanut butter for a slightly sweeter treat that is still healthy. It is indeed one of my childhood comfort foods. As always, another enjoyable video. I'm always learning something from each episode and hope to learn plenty more about your cruising experiences. Cheers!

Hi Nick and Terysa, I have been following SRR for a few months now and really enjoy your channel. This is my first comment and it is for Nick but applies to both of you. I was born in Zimbabwe, brought up in Zambia and now live in South Africa. I noticed that you go hiking in slip slops. I strongly advise that when walking in the bush in the southern hemisphere you should wear proper walking shoes. Both in Africa and Australia there are many poisonous snakes and spiders that can ruin your day. Shoes provide much better protection. Even just a cut on your toes or foot can make things quite difficult when far down the trail. Take care and thanks for sharing your adventures.

I'm happy you guys have found a helm position that fits you, I personally would like a fly or sport bridge.

Exposed helm positions are for short trips I sailed from Puerto Rico to Florida on a Pilot House Motorsailer. It was such a comfortable trip. Exposure to the Sun makes you get tired faster plus those headaches ....

Within the first 60s you can see that Terysa is really loving being back in Australia. It is hard to describe the smells, colours and sounds of Australia... but it is those things that ex-pats (like me) miss the most. I start thinking of Dorothea Mackellar's poem... My I still get choked up reading it.

Great cracks me up with his background antics (dancing in the background while the Mrs is doing a piece to camera classic) good work guys

I agree, I sleep the best on a boat floating "comfortably" in a bay, Nick may need to bring along an extra pair those hiking flip flops just incase he has a blow out!

We had the same experience on Lindeman. We're thinking of leaving markers on our track. Good to see Nick's high quality hiking shoes. Best take bandaids with your snake bite kit.

It's so cute that you call grilling things a "barbeque". 😊
