I can tell you 100%, the main reason why this ship kicked off- is because unlike with Wendy and the girls from Roadside, Dipper is being himself here. Even Pacifica’s VO pointed out that she brings out his confidence. The fact that, because they started out as enemies, once they see each other as *people*, they’re still able to be themselves in front of the other. There’s no impossible pedestal that the other is placed on, they’re no longer trying to be something they’re not, they’re just… Dipper and Pacifica.

I like how instead of just making Pacifica a bland stereotype, they actually developed her character and made us feel bad for her. While I'm glad Gravity Falls was allowed to end respectfully, it is shame we never saw more Pacifica episodes.
