LYRICS:

She was deadhead bound for Arizona
The days are longer and the nights are warmer
Don’t lose that girl

She was staying with a friend of her sister
A college kid, boy, I sure do miss her
Don’t lose that girl
Lose that girl

How far would you go to see her smile
Would you drive a million miles
How far would you go
Not a thing in this world could stop you now
Every part of you wants to show her how
How far would you go

I said should I come out before the summer
It took a while to get an answer from her
Don’t lose that girl

Well she got real still a bit too quiet
Told me not to worry but I did not buy it
Don’t lose that girl
I can’t lose that girl

How far would you go to see her smile
Would you drive a million miles
How far would you go
Not a thing in this world could stop you now
Every part of you wants to show her how
How far would you go

Nothing could prepare me
For what happened right behind me
I could not see, as I looked the other way

It’s a lonely night in the Painted Desert
Don’t wanna cry but I’m kind of wasted
Don’t lose that girl, can’t lose that girl

Just got turned on to Via Satellite. What a great album. I've been listening to it for 2 days nonstop....such a smorgasbord of tasty guitar tones. I wish I knew about a interview where the gear used on the album was discussed.

Nice that these guys are still around. If I'd heard this song with no knowledge of who it was I'd guess it was the Gin Blossom without their signature guitar distortion. Either way, it's a great catchy tune!

FWIW: Although 'Arizona' is mentioned in the song, the video was filmed in California. Southern Owens Valley between the Sierra Nevada Mtns and Inyo Mountains. I'm pretty sure I know where that hotel and old mine are located in the Inyo Mountains.

Love the glove compartment full of Twinkies! Fantastic song! Sorry I missed it when it first came out.

I had no idea they did a new album until 2021 - completely missed it. It does remind me of their sound back in the 1990s which I guess was not a huge success in today's market. Too bad they really are very good together.

The mountains over your shoulder, a woman that has your back, the Rembrandts on your car radio and Twinkies in the glove compartment.
It does not get better than this folks.
