Windows 11 Validation OS Demo!

Windows Validation OS is a very slimmed down version of Windows PE that only provides a GUI command-line environment for testing devices in factories. Here's a quick demo of this OS which doesn't have notepad or even a task manager!

The intended factories for this is the factories producing pre-built PCs, when they are being built; they are meant to be run in the being-produced PCs.

Apparently, that's intended to be run on the PCs being manufactured.

The way I imagined this being used is like this:
The manufacturer would likely customise the software to include device drivers and automated QA testing tools, spinning up different Validation OS images for all configurations different PC models.
The image would probably served from a testing jig running Factory OS and custom software to the device being tested over a USB-C or Thunderbolt connection that includes an Ethernet connection to load Validation OS over network boot (and run from RAM), the tests can run and status can be reported to the testing jig, things can be checked for functionality and against a custom configuration a user might order, and then DISM or another tool could be used to load the factory image if all QA tests pass.

They probably have this in factories to run tests (i.e. CPU burn in test, memchecks, keyboard, webcam test etc). Don't really need fancy graphics when all you need is a green OK or a red FAIL.Maybe also used at hardware development labs to check if this new board design or chip is working.

That reminds me of the Windows Server Core series and Azure Stack HCI because of the CMD-only interface. Might try this one tomorrow.

CLI programs run fine on this OS! But most GUI applications dont. The OS is so broken that CMD cant open the Properties window.
Strangely, winmine seems to work on this. And one other application too

it's not "windows 11 validation OS", it's "microsoft validation OS". the word "windows" doesn't appear in the name because it's not supported like a windows product is.

Why this os does even have ui? NTDEV proved that windows can operate in text-only mode, with win32 cmd.

This is nothing else as the recovery console. It's a part from Windows since ME/XP/7/8/10/11. There is Windows PE in every version and always available as a systembuilder version. Who have the stupid idea about validation OS?
