Saw him in 23 at the Birchmere, at the ripe age of 98 and played an 1.5 hr set, most of the time standing! Space is the place! God bless him.

I am old enough (88) to have seen the Sun Ra band several times. Always a surprise. Thanks to Marshall (the loudspeakers which carry his name are from Milton Keynes where I live in the UK) for keeping the band alive for so many years. Music like this unites the world in difficult times.

I had the enormous privilege of being live sound engineer and tour manager when Marshall toured in England with The Arkestra back in the 80s. I had some delightful conversations with him on the road. I have never forgotten his wisdom and common sense. It's a special treat to hear him and Neneh together as I know both her and her family, having worked with her and Don.
