Anastasia is a 1997 American animated musical fantasy drama film[8][9][10] produced and directed by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman from a screenplay by Susan Gauthier, Bruce Graham, and the writing team of Bob Tzudiker and Noni White. The film stars the voices of Meg Ryan, John Cusack, Kelsey Grammer, Christopher Lloyd, Hank Azaria, Bernadette Peters, Kirsten Dunst, and Angela Lansbury.[11] Based on the legend of Grand Duchess Anastasia, the film follows an eighteen-year-old amnesiac Anastasia "Anya" Romanov who, hoping to find some trace of her deceased family, sides with two con men who wish to pass her off as the Grand Duchess to dowager empress Maria Feodorovna; thus the film shares its plot with Fox's 1956 film, which, in turn, was based on the 1954 play of the same name by Marcelle Maurette. Unlike those treatments, this version adds a magically empowered Grigori Rasputin as the antagonist.

Fun tip: Pls google all the character cameos in this clip and you'll learn more cultural things about Paris than you would from a documentary/ a whole set of tourist guide books.

I love the heartbreak in _"No more pretend. You'll be gone, that's the end."_ He's beginning to recognize his own feelings for her but he prioritizes her need to find her family and disregards himself in that matter. He knows that she is Anastasia and once she's reunited with the royal family he will have no part or place in her life. And he wants to, but he wants her to be happy even more. So when he ponys up in the end of the movie to fight for that (literally) place in her life and in her heart it shows just how much she means to him

I don’t know why Dimitri was so upset realizing Anya was in fact the long lost princess. When he first saw her he knew that it was here when she broke in the old palace and seeing him in his feelings isn’t fun to watch him wallowing over her even when they were at each other’s throats. It’s good he fell in love with her knowing she remembered him as the boy who opened the wall yet he should just tell her.

Anastasia’s dress is the same as Daisy’s in the 2013 Great Gatsby film.

I used to mistaken this scene for Princesses On Parade from The Swan Princess. But Brava to my childhood anyway

This number is all one big tribute to Gene Kelly's 'An American in Paris' ballet - especially from 1:15 to 2:11;
