Virus wise we should be more worried about really old viruses that have been previously frozen in perma frost layers that are now thawing due to longer heat waves and changing weather patterns. We might not be immune.

It’s not about the disease actually infecting you because yea it probably can’t, not in the way diseases infect things normally. It’s about complete foreign biological bodies. It could still very much be toxic, or poisonous or anything. We just wouldn’t know

why only viruses? Bacteria? Symbiotic parasites that we ignore? These would pose a far more likely threat. bacteria do jump species, and so do symbiotic parasites. They would have no immunity to ours, and we would have no immunity to theirs. Microbes are our smallest concern. (Pun intended)

Yea well aliens would likely know to be careful if this ever became relavant provided they'd even care. That said i'm with Neil on that one. My only concern would be over wtf would happen if the aliens common cold virus would start mutating to the Earth organisms. Now that thought does scare me somewhat.
