Why throw away a $100 Suitcase if I can fix it for $10? 🛠😀

The cinematic slow mo of the dropping of the old wheels is a nice touch.

Thank you - so helpful. What I really LOVE about this video is that it doesn't feature a know-it-all annoying voiceover! Seeing this made me realize why Youtube DIY videos have been a total last resort for me until now.

I came to YouTube looking for this and it was the first video I found. I realized I could release my old wheels by hacksawing only the outboard side of the rivet, and now they’re off. Rest of the suitcase is in great condition, glad this can be fixed.

My suitcase is different, but I still love this video. I love this video anyway—I hate “throw it away and buy new” thinking, and this is filmed perfectly! 👏

This was great. No long intro, just a quick video on how to replace the wheels. Thanks.

Thank you. This video is super-helpful. II love how it communicates without language, simply and cleanly. So well done and easy to follow. Enjoy the day!

Would have been easier to get the axle out had you cut through it on the outer side of the wheel. Great video. No heads or shoulders in the way, perfect close ups, perfect lighting, no shots of banana fingers fumbling in darkness. just clarity all around. No lengthy descriptions of what a wheel is or demonstrations of how a wheel turns around. No side track to show how the bend in and allen key is very useful. Just an all out, very very helpful video. Can't wait to get my hacksaw out. Thank you so much.

Great stuff. I have an expensive case and wanted to know how to fix the worn wheel rather than toss out the suitcase. Thanks

Appreciate this, thanks. I was surprised when the hacksaw came out, I figured I'd need to pop something off and unscrew a few things.

Very simple and easy to follow video. Wish I had followed it as I figured it would be easier to remove the wheel assemblies from the suitcase first and use a jigsaw, and then a drill, and ended up destroying one wheel assembly.

For some cases it can be easier to unscrew and remove the plastic corners that the wheel mounts to

Another pro tip to refresh a bag after fixing the wheels:

Gently sponge off your entire bag. Any frayed edges from overuse can be burned away by holding a lighter in your hand and gently running the flame across the frays.

Bravo! You did a great job with this video. Thank you. I’m not sure I have time to do this before I leave on my trip but really appreciated your video, great close-ups, adorable and dramatic slow motion tossing of the broken parts! Made me laugh.

Thank you so much for this video, 'cause I didn't know how to get the old (inside)wheels off. 😊

Thanks for sharing. Seems it can be done easier with some of the suitcases which only require unscrewing instead of sawing off the broken wheel. Saying that, its not $10 replacement - its $10 (or more, depending on type) plus about 2 hours or more of time searching for right wheels, measuring, getting right tools, put it all in place, etc. Which for most people would be worth more than $100 it would cost to just buy a new suitcase (and it will be new). So... unless you simply find it entertaining and enjoyable sawing off wheels or earn less than $20/hr...

Thank for Idea. Bought old bag and wheels broke in same day

Hi. So the best way is to cut it with a hacksaw ? Think I shall buy n try it. Tried to use hammer and drill doesn’t really work for me.

This is so weird, I was thinking if I should even bother looking at YouTube for replacing my suitcase wheels because it I don't ever see anyone with my suitcase and here the second video is Itzik fixing my exact Israeli suitcase..

Excellent video but it’s convinced me to just buy new luggage instead of repairing old luggage.
