We have an old water well on our property that was looking pretty ugly. It has not pumped water for many years and is starting to crumble apart. My wife wanted me to build a wishing well to cover it up and to make it safer.

Great job. One thing I do differently while cutting lap joints. I set the saw to depth of cut. take very small bits. This way there is no chisel used.

I was also looking for dimensional size or a plan as I wanted to buld one just like this. I liked how this one was put together. Any help would be nice. It looked really well done, and thought through.

@Specific Love Creations  I have to build this out of safety necessity! Please provide an estimated material list such as number of pressure-treated two-by-fours and measurement Etc. I have a hole beside my house that used to be a water well that is more than 12 ft deep. It has no safety sides to prevent any thing or anyone from falling in.

Where you have a concrete Barrel sticking above ground I have nothing! It is just a straight drop cliff!

I realized the diameter of my whole May be different from yours and will change size slightly but I can adapt from what measurements you give me please.
I definitely want to make the lower part stand taller closer to waist-high.
