Did you ever wonder what ZAVARA KATRA NEMIA means? Closing remarks prior to Finale and the meaning of Zavara-Katra-Nemia by the composer Yannis Markopoulos during Cosmos FM NYC Concert January 27, 2013 "LIVE IN NY".

Abbreviated english translation of Yannis Markopoulos' comments: "I am very happy that my songs finally have the power that they should have. Creators go through difficult times. How we spend our days and nights, only God knows... so that we can write something which touches the memory, is recognized by the public and can contribute to what we call the great Greece. I want to thank in particular Polys Kyriakou who stood by me in my effort to give you a perfect concert, to thank the musicians who came with me from Greece, the Russian Angelina Tkatseva who plays the santouri and Ilias Zoutsos on the Cretan lyre, the exceptional pianist Thomas Kontogeorgis and my singer Alexandros Belles.

My orchestral concept merges traditional instruments of our demotic heritage alongside the classical instruments; the violins but also the lyre, the brass, trumpet and trombones complemented with the santouri. This concept I created when I was 20 still stands strong today since our traditional instruments equal symphonic instruments.

I made a major mistake not to first mention my partner Vasiliki Lavina who was unwell today. And finally Mario Frangoulis, the best singer of our country since he maintains both the traditional and classical heritage of Greece. Congratulations to Cosmos FM who gave exams today and passed with honors. Finally a recognition of all the businessmen and the benefactors of this concert. Our businesses are the economic strength of Greece and we need to recognize their losses as well as their support.

Zavara Katra Nemia means δύναμη κράτα ενάντια στην σκουριά "strength hold (strong) against rust." There was not the word the word αλληλουια hallelujah there was the word αλληλουχια (sequence) they removed the x (chi) . ίλεως (propitious) = ελεος (mercy), νάμα = βαπτισμα (baptism), λαμα = μαχαιρι (knife). I undestand the metathesis katra > krata ok, but how zavara becomes Dynami? and nemia = skourià?? not in ancient greek.
