I just watched Jupiter Ascending.
This tells the story of a normal girl who travels with a guy to another world better in 13 minutes than in a 2+ hour movie.

Anyone get here from Being Erica? Friend told me about BE which I started watching but of course, the real standout was spunky Erin Karpluk (reminded me as a not totally unlike Kimmie Schmidt(!)). And so I wonder what she was doing these days and found Riftworld Chronicles which I couldn't find anywhere to stream. But found The Portal on YouTube. And so here I am! What a great short! MUST find RC somewhere!

I'm confused. This short film has a duration of 13:46, while the episodes of the series are together much longer. How come? Is the series a sort of extended version?
[EDIT] After watching the series and this, it's even more confusing. It's completely different!?

Well having watched both this pilot and the full web series, I have to say while I enjoyed the full 8 episodes I felt this version hung together better. Also the VFX was way better in this version, nice touches like the map glow and the lift portal. The episodes really didn't explain why he lost his magic in our realm, but here it makes sense. Anyway, all very enjoyable.
