Box Tunnel Pulled Beneath Active Railroad Tracks, Rotterdam Junction, NY

Pulling a new pedestrian tunnel beneath active railroad tracks in Rotterdam, NY now provides a new connection to the Empire State Trail. Brierley Associates teamed with D.A. Collins Construction, Inc. to successfully design, build and deliver this project. Brierley Associates' unique box pulling method first used to construct the Twin Vehicle Tunnels at Liberty University was integrated into our design. Video is courtesy of D.A.
