The fact that comments are blocked on the other ad speaks volumes about racism in the UK. Why is showing family memories with a phone call voice over considered controversial?

Why are comments open for this & not the other advert - very sad how the British public have reacted to seeing a black family in an advert - shocked but not surprised

If you can’t “relate to” a Christmas Ad featuring a Black British family, but you can relate to;

- Hungry Victorian Orphans
- First World War Soldiers
- Anthropomorphised Woodland Creatures
- Ice Skating Robots
- A family of large stuffed carrots

Then your problem isn’t relatability, it’s racism.

I love everything Sainsbury’s stands for and how they’re always making an effort to be inclusive. It’s such a shame many people can’t appreciate that POC have gone decades without having representation on TV and now that is finally being done there’s uproar. Disappointed is an understatement

I'm as white as white but relate more to the first ad because it reminds me of of South London, home and lovely friends. We are on this earth for a ridiculously short time so peace and love everyone.

The first advert showcased British Christmas traditions. If a white family was featured there would be no issue but the racists of this country are throwing a tantrum because a black family was shown. We can do so much better.

Seen a few awful comments here about not liking black people and that UK is majority whites so they’re mad at the first advert. Don’t try to hide your racism. People who are so triggered about seeing an advert of someone from a different ethnicity (whether caucasian black Asian or other) clearly aren’t educated or open minded enough and shouldn’t go on holiday and enjoy other countries. stay in your own house, don’t eat other food that’s a different cuisine to yours, don’t buy from shops owned by a different race, don’t buy anything ‘made from china’. it’s sickening that people hate diversity and just want to see people who are exactly the same colour as them. Wtf is wrong with you. Go and see the world, travel, learn about cultures.

I'm white but identified more with the black family cos that was the way my dad behaved. Singing down the phone and boasting about his cooking. It made me tear up a bit thinking about him. Both ads are great though. I identified a bit with a Aldi carrot too with the kids waiting for their daddy to cone home.😂 Made me think of my kids and husband. We should just be grateful there's Christmas ads about this year at all. Let's all just have a nice Christmas God knows we all deserve it this year. 🎄
