The cursed torches being able to burn underwater actually makes sense, since the tooltip says "not even water can extinguish this flame"

Admittedly I didn't realize how tiny of a difference Torch Luck actually made
I knew it existed and I always tried to match my torches with the biome for that reason, but didn't realize I was making a much bigger deal out of it than I had too

Back when 1.4 originally released and people discovered the hidden mechanic of torch luck it was way worse because it did make your luck negative.
Of course no one was told about this and the devs specifically hid it, thus for a time some items could have an absurdly low drop value, taking an item from 2% to 1.8%. Farming was awful then.
There wasn't even the Torch Gods favor, you had to manually craft every torch for luck, needless to say the backlash was absolutely deserved.

You didn't know about torch luck? There was a whole drama back when it was introduced in 1.4 lol
After the backlash they made it so torches can't decrease your overall luck ( they can only decrease each others bonuses )
I think that's a really cool mechanic. In addition to other sources of luck, I can feel that it's much easier getting rare items nowdays ( at least it seems like it )

Since most people probably don't know the exact mechanics of luck, a luck of 0.2 means that you have a 20% chance for the following effects:
+10% fishing power
Roll 2 damage numbers for damage variance, with the higher chosen (when you deal damage or for some reason when a cactus damages you in the DST crossover)
And for affected loot and rare enemies the chance to spawn/drop is randomly increased by up to 100%
For negative luck the effects are the opposite (-10%, lower roll, 0.5—1x spawn/drop chance)

Fun Fact, every time I play Terraria or TModLoader, there is one thing I fully collect the entire set of; Campfires.
So, yes, *I'm very familiar with torches.*

When I discovered about torch luck, I prioritized on defeating torch god early game, but I never knew it only caps at 0.2, lol.
You should do more videos about luck, or maybe you have? I'm curious as to what I have missed, it's been a while.
