I’ve gotta admit I’m one of those die hard Perry fans and after 12 years, I just happened to have Arnels YouTube page pop up on my feed and saw he was singing an oldie fav of mine. I’ve been sitting here watching one video after another of him singing some of my favorite songs from the past. Made me appreciate him in a way I never have before. I’m so sorry for all the comparisons everyone makes and honestly all the comparisons I’ve made myself. I see him now as a humble and beautiful singer with an amazing voice who is able to tackle so many genres and such a variety of singers and songs. I’ve realized he’s a super talented man who deserves so much more credit than he gets. I’m sorry Arnel that u were given such an impossible task to replace such a popular frontman…. Impossible situation for any singer to be put in. You are truly talented and I’ve loved every song I’ve sat and watched u sing this morning. I’ve seen comments ppl have made on Arnels performance on the Rock n roll hall of fame induction ceremony, but if we r being honest, Steve Perry can’t hit all those high notes he used to hit either. Sometimes I wonder if that’s why Steve really never joined back up with Journey. Ppl behind the band have always worked both Steve and Arnel like a work horse. They never got enough time off to rest their voices. A lot of greedy ppl behind the music ( or possibly Neal ) want the money to keep pumping out and it can ruin even the very best of voices or cause them to have a bad performance. It’s time for everyone to recognize what a treasure Arnel is and just enjoy his singing. You are pretty dang awesome Arnel !! Much love 💕💕💕💕💕

As a professional musician & singer I can tell you that very few of the big league singers have Arnel's degree of vocal control & expression. No one can perform perfectly all the time. The traveling, interviews & Social events that a front person is expected to do is far more punishing than most people realise. Managers, record companies & even other band members often expect miracles. I have played multi keyboards with a broken hand twice & I can tell you it was easy compared to singing for 2 hours straight with 2 broken ribs!
Arnel, you have had to follow one of the greatest rock legends & I, as a professional who has sung some Journey's songs, I can say truthfully, you have gone beyond expectations. May you have all the success & happiness happiness you so definitely deserve.

It has become clear to me that Arnel is not trying to be Steve. I think he never did. He simply happened to have the same voice range as that of Steve's. He's been like that when Journey found him. He simply put on the shoe left by Perry and helped bring Journey's songs back to life. This guy is simply talented. Nuff said.

Whether or not Arnel sounds like Steve Perry has been debated and argued over a decade now and I don't think it's that important anymore because he isn't exactly a Perry-clone and I seriously doubt that he himself thinks he is. With that said, we got a singer here that can sing just about anything and everything thrown at him and he does a great job with it, which is more than enough reason for us music fans to appreciate and treasure in this unusually challenging time. One thing that I love with Arnel is his unique voice. It's soothing and very beautiful. I don't understand why people compare him to others, if you hear Arnel's voice in person you will understand what I mean.

Arnel has been with this band for over 12 years and I say its long overdue already to not give him the nudge of respect that he trully deserves. He's not there to compete or disrespect Steve, instead Arnel is there to preserve and continue the Journey legacy. He has his own amazing and beautiful unique sound! A rare talent! Respect!!!
