Chopping Corn Silage near Versailles Ohio - September 2019

Video of my first corn silage video of the 2019 season. In this video I am at a dairy farm near Versailles Ohio as a custom silage harvester chops silage for a local dairy farm. In this video is a Claas Jaguar 970 forage harvester, A JCB 8250 tractor pulling a Penta DB50 dump wagon, A JCB 3230 tractor pulling a Meyer Boss silage wagon and a John Deere 6190 tractor pulling a Meyer silage wagon.

Also in this video I am showing footage of the silage pile in the making at the dairy farm as the tractor and wagons dump the corn silage a New Holland T8 330 tractor with a Grouser FH 400 blade push the silage up on the pile and a John Deere 8420 tractor packed the silage pile.

Thanks Mike for all your camera work and editing etc. My grandparents brought me up as a young lad and glad for that over my years.
I wish that he could see how things are being done on the farms now. Unheard of back in the 40's and 50, s just amazing

Tippers trailers mostly used in U.K and nice to see JCB in the USA such a nice place to farm the usa. been to Wisconsin to dairy expo twice such a nice place and lovely people hope to go again one day

If you get a chance to swing back through Colorado, not far from where you took video of the Claas combines there are a ton of claas choppers. most guys run two a few have up to four they run. Would make a great video👍

I know there’s a lot of custom work going on what roughly is the going rate, is it per acre or tonnage or machine run time. Just curious?😎
