ive noticed that the first test is usually how fast the captain can get life jackets out for everyone which is a pretty simple but effective test.

Anybody who drinks often knows that 3-4 drinks is a lie. Especially when you’re out on the water with friends and family 😂

The parents weren’t concerned about drinking and operating a boat while having their infant child on board until the father was arrested for drinking and then we have got to take care of the baby. Even though the mother wasn’t drinking she sure wasn’t concerned enough about her baby to stop her husband from operating the boat while drinking. Entitlement was the problem on this boat from all on board all the violations and then she ask can the impaired captain ride with us, ARE YOU SERIOUS! The parents having fun overcame the welfare of the infant child. Absolutely despicable.

Why did the officer NOT offer the breathalyzer to the captain?

The guy that got arrested looked a lot like a guy I dated back in the day. They basically seemed like a good group of kids (aside from big mouth) and made the mistakes you especially make when you're younger. At the time it can feel like the end of the world but it's just a night in jail, paying your fines and a blemish on your license, but hopefully the learning of a very valuable lesson because there are so many terrible accidents that happen on the water as well as on the road.

If someone is compliant should a life jacket be placed on them before handcuffs? Besides that actions have consequences, if you’re driving a boat of 10 adults and a baby maybe you should choose not to drink that day. DD’s are a thing.

Whether or not you're under arrest you still have the right to speak and I wish I was a lawyer i would challenge them being able to just pull you over randomly I would say this is clearly a violation of the Constitution

Friends ask why I sold my big Mako? I quit drinking Feb.27, 2000 and tired of constant harassment on the water and pulled into their boat for DUI check telling them I DO NOT DRINK! Constant harassment with ALL my safety equipment! I do not miss it. I stay home and think about the good times of yesterday……

Once again just a quickie check of another boater and you head off with your daily catch. So sad how this system works now
