Good tips indeed. especially those on bookmarking and checking systems danger level before selecting to bookmark.
But if i was an alpha venturer, i would still prefer joining an hi sec industry corp, mine their moon belts with their orca boosts kinda semi afk also do PD for extra isk ;)

I don't recommend anyone mine unless they really want to take it seriously and have 5 toons doing it. The only reason I would recommend skilling/owning mining ships in games for solo players is its still a good afk activity if your doing other things.

I played eve for about 50 hours.

I was sort of enjoying it, but it felt kind of empty, and it took a lot to work out how everything works.

The game was completely spoiled for me, when I bought Omega thinking it would open the game up for me, I mispressed something and ended up with absurd amounts of Isk and no idea how to use any of it.

So there I was, with a massive pile of money, and no idea how to make larger amounts of income.

The incentive disappeared for me. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Lowsec isn't worth it. A lot more risk for a lot less profit. "I make 300 million ISK an hour!" Said no one with proof. I can make more ISK in an Exhumer in 0.7 than anyone can make piloting a Venture in low sec. Ice mining and the extra minerals you get in a 0.7 asteroid field, etc... combine that with the processing skill, and you're good. Mining solo is never going to be profitable for the risk involved when you're in low sec. If you're in a corp, perhaps you can make more as long as you have some Orcas running back and forth and several other miners in Exhumers mining with you. But solo? An Exhumer in 0.7 vs. a Venture in low? Nah.
