LOL...The Blair Witch story is completely fictitious. I grew up in Frederick County, Maryland; and the first I heard about the "Blair Witch" is when posters for the film starting appearing in my current city of Seattle. Of course, the tiny town of Burkittsville, MD is probably still attracting tourists as Blair Witch Central. However, much of the forest scenes were actually filmed in a large park in neighboring Montgomery County. If the "student filmmakers" had wandered too far into the wooded areas around Burkittsville, they would have run smack-dab into Camp David. ;)
