TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS
ABRSM’s recommended tempo is for this piece is 126bpm, but although that is the printed metronome mark, students might prefer a slower tempo, such as 112bpm, as mentioned at the bottom of the page, in the footnotes of the Grade 3 (2025 & 2026) exam book. The tempo played in this video is based on 120 bpm, which seemed a nice speed to play it at.

A good legato (smooth) touch is required throughout, and although no pedal markings are written in the score, I used some light sustain pedalling, in order to give the piece a calm and floating feel. Dynamics are straightforward, but make sure the left-hand slurred crotchet pairs in bars 19 - 32 have a slightly lighter 2nd note in each bar, which will help to enhance that calm and care-free sound needed. There are no rall. or rit. markings at the end, but a slight slowing in the final few bars could work well. Also remember to play the final chord paused, as marked.
