2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV 2LT POV Test Drive & Review

This is a new 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV 2LT. This Bolt EV comes in silver flare metallic on jet black perforated leather interior. The powertrain consists of a front-mounted electric motor capable of 200 HP/266 LB-Ft of torque, mated with a 65 kWh battery.

Standard features of this Bolt EV 2LT include bluetooth audio, a backup camera, and WIRELESS Apple CarPlay/WIRELESS Android Auto compatibility. Additional features include a premium Bose Sound System, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and lane keep assist with lane departure warning.

Thank you for this wonderful review. It was custom made for my wife and I. We have a 2015 Leaf and are going to upgrade to a 2023 Bolt 2LT (in 2024). As you mentioned in the video, we don't need anything fancy. So the Leaf and Bolt are perfect for us. We'll more than triple the range. The car we have our eyes on is exactly like in the video (except that it is white). Less than 10K miles on it, and they're asking $20, 900.

I just bought one this month and I love it so far. The single pedal drive function is so great! And I would buy the car just for the heated steering wheel 😅. Easy to drive, easy to park, the top view cameras make parallel parking ridiculously easy. Great little car if you don't need it for long road trips.

We just bought the 2LT. Picking it up soon. We got it for MSRP in CA. After CA rebate and Federal Rebate, out the door price including taxes and license was app 27K. I mean, for a fully EV pretty much loaded? First American car I have bought since 1989 and the first Chevy since 1979. Good job Chevy!

There is a video here on YouTube that will tell you everything that's going on under the hood.

It is far cleaner and simpler then under the hood of a gas engine.

The motor in these cars is actually not much bigger then a small size round duffle bag. Foot wide to 8 inches around. It's under all that stuff you see when you open the hood. It's mounted to some gears to connect the drive shafts to the wheels extremely simple.

As for what you see when you open the hood, you are looking at "boxes" that each has its own job some are power diverters power converters to ac and heat with liquid cooling system.

That's it.

Then you got the battery underneath the car.

I can't wait to get mine.

Thanks for the great review! You obviously learned your way around it in advance for an efficient delivery, which I greatly appreciate. Do you know if the front passenger seat folds flat? I’m looking for an EV as a daily driver most of the year which I could also sleep in occasionally during a few months of snow-birding. If both the rear and passenger seats fold flat, though could be the vehicle for me!
