Definitely a game changer in the calculator world - super fast, user-friendly, full of functions & beautifully crafted.. Arguably the best calculator in the world, if not of all time...

Both the TI-Nspire CX CAS and the new Casio CP400 have major competition. Yeah HP!!! Thank you for finally coming out with a new machine.

Yes, having a 50g I know it supports Algebraic. Although for the 5+ years I have owned it, I have never used it in Algebraic mode. Same goes for my 35s.

What I love about the Prime is the big chunky Enter button. Although it's not on the same side as it is on my 48s. The form factor is similar enough to get me excited. I still use my 48s as it is a rock-solid form factor. I only hope that the Prime has half the build quality as the 48s.

I recently started using mine again and got the G2 model as well later on, but I don't think I'll write many other softwares besides Supersonic Ball for that platform, because of the direction Royal Consumer and Moravia seems to be taking. Unless they decide to start marketing this product I doubt it will attract many customers if none of them knows it exists.

Exponents look sort of funky at 1:08; in some, the exponents are directly over the following operation (+), and in row 6, the exponent 2 is halfway between the + and the coefficient for the next term!

looks nice, most important the keyboard looks high quality, double wide enter key above the numeric pad, ON THE WRONG SIDE THOUGH. I have to say I bought a 50g after my 20 years old 48g died (apparently I need the coffee more than my calculator did), which fixes most of the problems of the 49x disaster. But after two years of not working I put new batteries in my 48g and it works perfect. I have to say the keyboards is much nicer than the 50g and the enter key is in the correct spot.

I plan to buy one. I already have a TI-Nspire CX CAS but this looks great. You can always trade in your present graphic at Amazon and get a gift card towards purchasing this as soon as it becomes available. I also have a Casio Classpad 330. Maybe I will trade that one in and get about $80.00 on a gift card towards the purchase of this one.

En efecto, llevo años esperando algo semejante de HP. Y aunque ya no uso muchas de las funciones, me da gusto que estas calculadoras sigan siendo producidas. Mi orden estará lista el día que salga a la venta.

Amazing stuff for engineering. Casio with classpad can't compete.

I haven't taken a math class in over 15 years, but I still want one.

OMG, OMG I'm not ready.
Can we get a little more specific than "Fall"?
I hope that battery lasts a reasonable length of time.
Yet another gadget requiring charging.
Can we download any Manuals yet?
Emulation available?
Can't wait. Was afraid I'd have to jump onto one of those Color "Inspire" thingies.

Thank you HP!

I hope it (a) still does RPN and (b) isn't as flimsy as the 50g! Looks beautiful.

Excelente, se ve espectacular, y con la calidad de HP es sensacional. Tengo una HP 50g y espero que esta la supere, que bien

There's only one probem with it, and it's actually the same as with 50g: it won't sell. How do I know? Market research 101: 1) find out who buys graphing calculators 2) find out what those groups want/need and 3) if those needs are not mutually exclusive, build all the functionality in, and if they are, make several calculators matching the needs of those separate groups.
Hint: 1) students 2) need calculators that are admissible at tests they are going to take, and this *so* won't be admissible.

>have you seen how brutally slow HP 48S/SX graphing is

48S/SX is 20 years old, I only mentioned it because the orange/blue alternate functions were very easy to see.

I can't believe that the HP Prime project manager approved the pale orange and blue alt functions, which are printed on light-grey keys. Very hard to see! HP doesn't have any awareness of basic ergonomics? No wonder TI is dominating the market!

From what I have read, Fall of 2013. (Note that I am not affiliated with HP in any way).

Enter key on the wrong side.
I am hoping this calculator is RPN based as I did not see a= key.
Finally a it appears that hp decided to go with a slide case.
The aesthetics of this machine are beautiful
