Birch Tree sung in solfege and played on Orff instruments

Показать описание
Students sing the song in solfege with hand signs as others play on xylophones and metallophones.
This song was taught two cycles ago and is used as the focus song for learning low ti. This lesson is from Kodaly in the Fourth Grade Classroom by Michael Houlahan and Philip Tacka: Unit 7 Lesson 5.
5 minutes was all that was spent developing this. They sang it for the first time in solfege read from the board, and instrument students spent a few minutes acclimating to the instrument. Some students are able to play xylophones once or twice every two months - it is not something I spend a lot of time on - more for enrichment. Yet look how they excel!
