we all know that Derpy has a tendency to fly backwards and I love how in this fight she uses that to her advantage.

I love how Derpy's fighting style takes advantage of her clumsiness and lack of co-ordination. It's like a drunken boxing style.

It's so interesting on how you got four legged combat to work, and Hooves are no joke, imagine having a mace for a hand...
I don't think anyone would have a good day going melee with a pony.

Derpy's fighting style looks incredibly slick, with all those feints, she just looks like a character _made_ for a fighting game

Why IS nobody talking about how smooth The animation is?

The two ponies that were being chased was actually Derpy's daughter and her daughter's babysitter. So, seeing that they are in danger, Derpy's motherly instincts kicked in to fight and defend her little one and close friend. So, this animation always gives me goosebumps cause it shows how much she loves her baby girl and her friend. Never mess with Mama Derpy 😅

Edit: I had to edit what I said, now knowing that the purple pony is Ditzy's babysitter. Sorry for the confusion 😅

6 years later, still amazing.

I love the thought and detail put into the still images, as we see the citizens of Canterlot fight for their home furiously, despite being utterly out numbered. You can feel the defiance in those images and I love them.
