Some places in the US don’t allow corn as bait because people will just throw a handful of corn in the water and then use a piece or 2 as bait to get the fish but it’s called chumming and sometimes the fish get the outer shell stuck in the intestines and eventually die. But it is good bait off you actually catch the fish to eat it
