For the first time, BOB MARLEY AND THE WAILERS' iconic 1984 album, LEGEND, is re-imagined for LEGEND REMIXED, an inspired new spin on the reggae classic to be released June 25, 2013 to celebrate the summer in North America on CD, LP and digitally by Island/Tuff Gong/UME. LEGEND's 16 tracks have been remixed by top DJs/producers. Included in this the cohesive new set are tracks by ten time Grammy winner Stephen Marley, Pretty Lights, Thievery Corporation, Jason Bentley, Z-Trip with Lee "Scratch" Perry, Photek, My Morning Jacket's Jim James, Roni Size, RAC, Beats Antique, Nickodemus & Zeb, as well as a new rendition remix of "Redemption Song" by five-time Grammy Award winning reggae artist, Ziggy Marley.

Now the last statement I STRONGLY agree with! And I'm glad you made that statement, because that's why I was just 'slightly' leaning towards what he or she said. It would be easier for me to hook my friends to the original mixes during a smoke-out session, if they are already familiar with the song, lol. Next thing you know people will be wanting more Reggae in general. I just really hope they try to release more tapes and stop BSing around like how they did that Kaya "Not So" Deluxe Edition. =)

NO! Dubstep + Bob Marley = garbage. I don't see how Bob Marley's music can gain from being remixed. It is perfect and I don't see how any remixes could ever be better than the original stuff.

I think what he or she is upset about is how they are going about remixing it. Which I must admit, I slightly lean towards this person's side. It's nice to see people generate different styles to Roots Reggae, but when is enough gonna be enough? Reggae in the mainstream has been watered down so much it's not even funny. I want Dub not Dubstep. Reggae fans want something new, but keep it roots for the hardcore fans to enjoy. or at least release some of those vault tapes. Hope you can overstand.
