Given their stellar college programmes, the Americans always seem to under-deliver in Olympic rowing. Not a single medal in Tokyo, and now they're going to struggle to even qualify for the men's eight. On the other hand there are smaller nations like NZ and the Netherlands who always seem to over-perform. Anyone got any ideas about what's going on here?
