iPhone Getting Hot? Here’s The Real Fix!

In this video, a former Apple tech explains why your iPhone gets hot and shows you how to fix the problem for good. Your iPhone gets hot because its CPU is running at 100% for a prolonged period of time. Most of the time, this is the result of a software problem.

If your iPhone is getting hot, begin by closing out of your apps. To do this, double-click the Home button and swipe the apps up and off the screen in the app switcher.

Next, check for app updates and iOS updates. Software updates often include patches to glitchy software that may be causing your apps to crash, malfunction, and make your iPhone get hot.

If your apps don’t seem to be the reason why your iPhone gets hot, trying resetting all settings. Doing this will target corrupted software files that could be overheating your iPhone. This won’t delete any of the data on your iPhone, but it will erase all of your settings.

Mine just gets hot whenever I try to stream on YouTube. My phone is almost brand new.

I just put my phone on low power mode and immediately it started cooling down. The tips to prevent it from happening again are very helpful so I just updated all my apps at once and now I’m updated my phone 🤞🏼

Perfect! Fixed my issue straight away when i closed down all the apps running in the background. Thank you! 🙌🏻 No more scalding phone in my hands and I’m now obsessed with closing those apps down 😁

For you who have this issue, when your phone getting hot, opens the case, then gently put your back of the phone onto the floor, make sure there's no sand or dust on floor. Floor is always in cool temperature, it can absorbs your phone heats in no time or you can play your phone while your phone on the floor to prevent overheating.

This solution is just temporary. You probably need a certified technician to solve this issue.

Thanks for this but... under “Analytics” (mentioned near the beginning), you didn’t say what to do if many apps of the same name are showing.

Also, I notice I have a lot of YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp repeated... but the whole line of the description is not exactly the same. Therefore, should I be looking for exact duplicate (entire line) descriptions, or just the name repeated lots of times as I have?

Again, though, what do I do about these?

My phone only over heats fast after I play a game on my phone for a couple minutes to kill time. It also drains the battery quick. My friend was playing some random game on my phone and my phone went from 80-20% in 10 minutes
