Snowy Plover Father with Chicks

One of the Redwood Coast's more remarkable animal dads made an appearance for Father's Day. As soon as Snowy Plover chicks are able to leave the nest, it's the father's job to watch over his young until they are able to care for themselves. If there is enough time in the breeding season, the mother will leave to find another mate, which helps buoy the population of these endangered shorebirds.
