Well, I just came across this video after trading in my Superblasts for the NB SC V2s. I have always worn Asics, never had New Balance. The Superblasts were just firmer than expected after several runs, and just didn't have much energy return to propel me forward. I put on the Supercomp V2s and will never look back, way more fun, way more bounce and energy return, and they feel better for everything. I will NOT miss my Superblasts. First NB purchase and it is amazing!

SuperBlast is really a great shoe! Asics gives me 40% off as a healthcare worker so cost is around $125. No better shoe out there for this price!!!!

While the sc trainer v2 is a new shoe, they seem more exciting vs buying another pair of superblast. With that said, superblast has absolutely proven itself. I’m a shoe geek with dozens of pairs of running shoes in my rotation. And the superblasts is my favorite long run shoe… Once passed the initial excitement of sc v2, I would be surprised if they would come close to the excitement of superblasts.

I like the scenario based questions at the end like "what would you pack if you had to take a trip and use 1 shoe..." That speaks a lot about a shoe for sure.

My two favorite shoes! I have them both but the SC Trainer is better for those slower paces and as a daily trainer overall. The SC trainer also feels easier on the feet than the superblast. The superblast sings at those faster paces for me but the only key thing that really seperates both of these is that plate. When i'm feeling tired on those long runs that plate really keeps me rolling forward and in good form. I can start feeling a bit of the flex and stiffness of the superblast when i'm tired in those long runs. In this instance I would choose the SC Trainer over the superblast as well (and you also save $20!). Love the video, keep up the good work guys!

Just started a rotation with the SC Trainer V1 & Novablast 3. Wouldn’t wear the SC Trainer to the gym, but it’s so comfy for easy and long runs. Using the ASICS for workouts. Glad to hear the SC V2 still maintains a lot of the traits of V1. Also glad to hear the upper is better as that’s my biggest complaint of the shoe. Feeling the laces through the thin upper. Thx for the review!

NB looks like it’ll fit a wider foot so I’d probably go with that.

I have owned Superblast for about 3 months. They really are great shoes, but you have to be careful with size. I chose 44 (Germany), and I keep thinking if it wasn't more suitable half a size smaller. Anyway, thicker socks and tighten the laces well and it works I also like them because they respond well to speed

My New Balance SC Trainer v2 only lasted 150miles, forefoot foam completely disintegrated, managed to get NB to replace them and the same thing happened on the new one!

Good morning, brilliant the comparison. Like to Meaghan and Thomas. My vote goes to asics Superblast. A nice weekend for everyone.

You read my mind. This is the comparison I have been looking for.

With Superblast, I can almost run everyday. It is out of stock in my country (Turkey), and I check everyday for new batch to come. Please Asics!

The Superblast is amazing ! I miss it if I run in a different shoe so I bought another one so I don't have to choose something else. not using for race day though

I really don’t like running easy in the superblast but it is surprisingly good with interval sessions.

How would you (or others) compare these to the saucony endorphin speed 3? Or put them in a different category?

Supercomp all day everyday so easy. Cheaper and plated. This shouldn’t be a debate… the superblast is like getting donuts without sprinkles… like it just make no sense

I own a pair of SC Trainer v1 and I love them! Best shoes for easy/recovery day. The landing is so soft and the ride is so smooth. After my unsuccessful attempts of trying to get used to the nike invincible I finally found what i was looking for. Nike offered great protection for my legs and day after running in them I felt fresh but the run itself was always hard and fatiguing. I liked the bounce but i hated the profile of the outsole which forced me to weird, unnatural landing. In SC Trainer there is no such thing! The protection of the foam is just as good (if not better) as in the invincible but the ride is so much smoother. I feel great during the run, just after the run and the next day I feel fantastic. When it comes to the stability there is indeed a little issue... But I think it's more related to the combination of huge stack height and drop than to any kind of instability in the construction of the shoe. For me only running downhill and doing very sharp corners feels a little weird. But I'm getting used to it. What I'm really concerned about is durability. There's a lot of soft exposed foam on the outsole. And it's getting beat up pretty fast...
