Spiral Wedging - ASMR edition! (#pottery #asmr #behindthescenes )

In this video, Craig's wedging some clay to remove any air bubbles before he starts to throw. Not only is it satisfying to watch, it also makes a satisfying sound!

While there are plenty of different ways to wedge clay, Craig prefers this spiral method. The hunk of clay in the foreground has already been wedged & shows off the spiraling effect.

In the background, you can also see the first step in reclaiming clay scraps - some wet clay drying out on plaster slabs that he will eventually wedge up to use again.

Being minimalists at heart, we appreciate how pottery allows us to reduce our waste & reuse materials.
