My dream kit is 21, 40 and 75. Every cinema kit needs a 40, I won't compromise with a 35 or 50.

It would be interesting to see a comparison between Thypoch Simera-C and Dulens APO Mini Prime at 7:03

Thank you for making this review! How would you compare the image of this to the 7Artisans Hope cine lens line?

I know the Hope lenses are much larger, are made for APSC, and these cover full-frame, but I'm curious what you think about their images when compared.

Thank you, Josh, for a great review. I was wondering whether you could recommend some good lenses for an indie Feature Film shoot.
I love the "clean" color rendition of photo lenses (Sigma Art/ Sony GM etc.) but for the film, I don't want something so "clinically" sharp.
I'm looking to buy a Pyxis 12K (release in July 2025).
Within a price of about $15K for a set of (about) 5 Spherical lenses, that are about T1.4, and also less than 2lbs (to use on a Gimbal) would you have a recommendation/ review of Non-Retro looking Cinema glass that I can buy for the Pyxis?
If there aren't ones with that weight requirement, I'm willing to take heavier lenses, and get one or two lenses separately for the Gimbal.
Thanks again. 🌿🌹🌿

Hey Josh! I have a quick question about the M-mount version of these lenses. Are they rangefinder coupled?

I know that my Nikon F mount lenses can be adapted to M mount, so can K-mount lenses. Would that make those even more adaptable than m-mount lenses? Would you say M-mount is more desirable because it of how thin the adapters are for mirrorless? I’ll still be purchasing vintage AI-S lenses since my film camera is a Nikon but I’m curious about this M-mount.

Thank you for the review! Modern vintage “cinema“? They don’t even color match, 900€ each, difficult to justify the price for me

Oh hell yeah! I want this set so badly, but I was waiting for a trusted source to review it.

2:30 also I was wondering what lenses you used for these shots.

Not bad. I think I am in a place where I am happy with the gear I have. I have a c70 and an r5c and I was one of those people thinking I needed to update to a c80 and an r5ii but I realized after getting some sigma ef art lenses, I am good right where i'm at. I am so happy with the image I get from my r5c shooting 8k with the sigma 24-70 f2.8 and rendering on a 6k or 4k timeline. I also use the canon rf ef adapter that allows you to have a rear mounted variable nd or clear glass swap. No more front mounted filters for me. I truly believe canon does not want sigma to make art series full frame glass for their ecosystem because hands down it is better glass than canon L series. I have had all the high end rf L series glass before and the sigma is in a different world to me. I currently use a 14-24 f2.8, 24-70 f2.8, and the 35 f1.4. This is all I need and on the c70 I get the extra stop of light with the speed booster. The r5c is my travel camera now though because I can also use the dual fisheye vr lens for immersive content all on the same body and I can take photos as well. The r5c is truly a swiss army knife and I prefer it over the r5ii because I do not want a stabilized image sensor because of that jello effect and also having to deal with overheating issues. The dynamic range of the r5c is excellent and at the end of the day, we are just chasing numbers. Companies know this and it is pure marketing. And now with the latest firmware update 1.0.9.1 you don't need to have usb power delivery to record 8k60 with af lenses like you did before. As long as you are using the new lp-e6p battery, you are good to go. Thank you canon for making my setup even lighter where I do not have to have a power bank attached to my small rig half cage. The sigma glass is by far my favorite. I have canon cn-e cinema glass also and I still stand by the sigma look I get and autofocus just makes things so much easier.

I will wait to buy them secondhand. The new price is a bit to high for me. Great Review bdw.

There's another great vid on the full set of these lenses by Media Division where I commented on the color shift - specifically between the wider end of the range to the longer end, where the wider end looked a little warmer, or just a bit more green, and longer end seemed a bit cooler... But when I commented on that for their vid, they said that had more to do with the ND's they were using and not the lenses themselves. But, every example I've seen of the lenses so far is showing the same color shift issues... Not a deal breaker because you can always compensate for it, but at the same time, once you see it you can't unsee it! From what I can tell, the color shift and the different sized front threads are the two negatives going against these, but those are honestly pretty minor complaints at this price point and they remain on my need to check out list for 2025. Paired with the c400, these could really be something interesting because of the cleaner look vs the standard vespids, and the size for rigging.

The only cine lens I own is the Vespid prime 40mm and being thinking of buying the 21mm but still saving for it. do you think I can pair the Thypoch 21mm with the Vespid Primes?

These vs the vespid primes? What would you pick

For a Super35 Sensor what would be the best mm lens to get? to shoot inside a car somewhat upclose?

Another "vintage" or "character" marketing jargon for bad lens design. I like DZO stuffs but they're often hit or miss nowadays.
