Why do they never address the root cause of this demand, no problems pre 1997 before the flood gates were deliberately left open by the last labour govt..what next, another 10 million, then another, then another, when will sustainability be the buzz word, instead of growth..

The sudden urgency, to build, build, build, isn't affordable homes, it's for all the unwanted illigals, economic migrants and they're families, because let's be honest, they've swallowed up all that was left for locals.

More houses means more sewage spills. less GP appointments. less NHS. less council services. Increase in council tax. Reality bites.

Should be shipping people out, not building them homes

It's not a housing crisis, it's an immigration crisis. Sunak let in 2.5 million. The economic growth promised by these floods of foreigners never materialized, and now we need to house them somewhere.

How many more houses are we going to build? There’s not going to be any greenery anywhere. I’m seeing housing developments put up at every corner. It’s unaffordable because too many people are coming into this country. Absolutely disgusting what the UK’s turned into.

We shall build them on the water meadows, we will build them on the hills, we shall build them in the forests, we will never give up until we live in a concrete jungle..

Crewe is an example of bad housing expansion. Miles of suburban sprawl of semi-detached homes in a cul-de-sac mess with no walking/cycling or bus lane infrastructure.

Where is the infill? where is the big Georgian townhouses and midrise apartments? Where is the light rail network and bus lane linking it together?

Crewe is a massive railway interchange with multiple railways converging. So why does it have only one station. Why is this station surrounded by surface level carparks, big box retailors and warehouses. The traffic over the one road at the station must be horrific.

What an utter waste of land and if it carries on Nantwich, Willaston, Shavington, Haslington and Crewe will merge in to one massive blob of low density car dependant semi-deatched sprawl.

Where is the vision. is building anything taller than a house banned over there? Wasting the land around a train station like that is criminal. But it's how NIMBY's want it.

No. The issue is not only decades of poor legislation, but also the fact that an average wage in the UK makes it impossible to get in the housing market. People have been priced out of home ownership and that was by design. It's not a flaw, it's a feature.

Coucil houses residents should be shifted to apartments not houses and they should be shifted to out of city areas as city houses should be reserved on sale or rent for hard working people not government benefit hogging lazy people.

The labour party needs to end the right to buy. This is where the housing crisis has stemmed from
