How real wild fishing should be.

There is very little real wild fishing these days but the lochs in this video are rarely visited and hold little wild brown trout that have been there since the end of the last ice age. This is the best fishing available and regardless of the size of the fish or the amount of shouting required when you hook something nothing compares to a day wandering the moor after real wild fish that require considerable effort to catch.

Incredible landscape - it reminds me of some of the tundra along the Dempster Highway in the northern Yukon

Another great video, Philip, Thanks for the shout out for my flies. I will be in touch next week, with an update of my latest escapade. Take Care and Best Regards.

Patience always pays of Philip some nice colours in your trout

Smashing trout, see you were fishing two of my favourite Loch flies, connemara black and clan chief, I fish the connemara, with a wee godhead and jungle cock eyes when troot are down, turns it into wee streamer/lure, great on burns with a run as well, clan chief one of best flies ever, lochs and burns are fishing great down here after the heatwave, good video pal.

Aye, that's proper wild fishing. Middle of nowhere, and no bugger in sight. The closest a lot of people get to wild fishing these days is when the rainbow fishery has run out of kit-kats.

Some nice fish there Philip. I like those low bank lochs, the contours suggest they are shallow and that usually means they fish quite well.

Really enjoyed that. Thanks for uploading it. All in all it was a productive day considering the bright sunlight. Those wild trout look lovely. Were you fishing size 12 flies or smaller? I imagine 3llb tippet is enough?

Thanks again- I think in the past chaps killed much of what they caught on these types of lochs/Llyns/mountain lakes -often to feed the family- and average weights were better overall. With catch and release the water can't rear so many fish to any size.

Im going back over next week. Do you need a permit for trout lochs, and if so where would i get such a thing? Family from there only seafish which isn't really my thing.
