Germany: SDP pick Martin Schulz to challenge Angela Merkel

Social Democrats in Germany have nominated the former president of the European parliament to lead their election campaign this year.

Martin Schulz is seen by many in his party as having the best chance of ousting Chancellor Angela Merkel in September.

But voters in Berlin are sceptical about the Social Democrats policies.
