Q:What pencil, paper, pen (etc) do you use?

Q: How do you record your videos?
A: I use a Sony Handycam HD to record my videos and Adobe Elements Premier for editing

Q: Can I send you mail?
A: Yes! Make sure you check that the correct postage is on the envelope or it won't make it to me.

Q: Will you write me back?
A: If you include a self-addressed stamped envelope, I will reply back to you! :)

Q: Can you draw a picture of my dog. horse, cat, Mother (Etc)
A: Unfortunately, I am unable to take personal requests. If you are interested in purchasing a commissioned drawing from me, send me a message for more information.

Q: How can I get better at drawing?
A: The biggest thing you can do is keep drawing! Never give up.

Wow, the “ Art shlump” speaks to me right now. I’ve been recently having so much motivation and inspiration to draw, but it just hardly seems to come out satisfactory when I draw. One thing that helps me with it is to either draw different things, Or just straight from a reference. 😊

I remember being bored one day after school and hopping onto YouTube to find some drawing tutorials. I found one of your videos(I think one of the animal drawing tutorials) and tried drawing for myself. I have been drawing for 5 years now and am looking to apply to an art school in my area in the next few years. You have been an inspiration to me for many years. Thank you for posting again.

In your video, you mentioned that you worked on other creative things during an art block such as writing! What kind of things do you write? Do you have anything published that we could read? My recommendation for jealousy or comparison is to put in the time. 10, 000 hours. Yes! TEN THOUSAND. Once you've put in your time, then maybe compare. The artist you love have put in the hours to become what they are. Everyone was once a noob at some point.

How old were you when you started Youtube and started making money? I'm 40 and in the midst of a career change where I want to become a professional artist. It is however very hard to convince my wife/family that this goal is even possible at my age. I just wondered how old you were when things started to change for you and if there is any hope and/or inspiration to be had in your story?

I'm so old the only "video" i got to watch was Bill Alexander on our t.v without a remote to pause it and no pause anyways. Who is Bill Alexander? Well....you know EVERYTHING Bob Ross ever said or did or painted that people thought was so awesome? Yeah, that was Bill Alexander right down to beating the tar outta his brush, yep.... Bill. He was amazing and so much fun to watch. Sorry for getting a little salty there. I just never appreciated Ross taking on everything Bill and making it all about him.
