This song makes me so emotional. More so than any other song off the album, maybe even out of any other song of theirs. Because it is literally how they became who they are. A lot of people are too afraid to tell that in a long winded story, much less put it in a song. So many things could have gone wrong, in the song and their lives, but they didn't. There were so many things that if they didn't happen, then ATL never would have even met. But those things did happen, thank god. The line, "Fated trip across the ocean." gets me, because it does kind of feel like fate, doesn't it?

to me i think all time low had put a very similar chorus to So long soldier with circles because circles was the start of there music you know their first music video, and so long soldier is about how the band came to be from start to where they are now and how they'll keep going. so what better way (i'm guessing) to talk about how they started with bringing a reminder to their first(i think their first) music video. to kind bring back maybe a nostalgic feeling to their fans from where they were and how it all maybe came to hey who knows maybe they just but the similar chorus cause it just sounded cool for the song.
