Does anyone else’s brain work like this? 40% is 15 more than 25% and 10 less than 50%. 15+10=25. 15/25 = 3/5. 10/25 = 2/5. So, 40% has to be 3/5 50% and 2/5 25%. 3/5 is 1.5 times as much as 2/5, so 50% is 16 liters times 1.5. AKA 24 liters!

ℹ Pharmaceutical calculations by Alligation method:

a/100.x + b/100.y = c/100(x+y) |÷100
ax+by=c(x+y)
ax+by=cx +cy
ax-cx=cy-by
x(a-c)=y(c-b)
x/y=(c-b)/(a-c)
x, y are volume from primer solution.
a is primer% concentration from x solution
b is primer% concentration from y solution
c is resulted% concentration from secondary solution with volume of (x+y)

In chemistry there is other way to calculate this, it is easier when you do not have a calculator on you or you do not know calculus

Why not just use the percentages (integer) as weights, and avoid the horribly ugly .45 sans leading zero…. 0.45 is what is required.

First I did the problem in my head and came with 30 L but it didn't make sense then I set up the eqution just like his and came with 24 L and then I checked his video answer and Voila i was right.. I am 70 yr old btway
