The Chasm Archon quest revealed a lot to us and Dainsleif provided us with information in regards to the Hilichurls. Today, we learn about the Hilichurls where they come from!

since the traveler has the power to cure or purify, maybe when the traveler kills hillichurl he actually purifies the curse and return their spirit to human form. just like what the yellow light did to dains friend halfdan.

I wish there was a way you could trade with the hilichurls (and also the Fatui after their Chasm quests) for their materials instead of fighting them. All we need are stained and damaged masks - they probably have plenty lying around in disuse! Let me pay for them with provisions or even Mora if they want, there's no need to fight.

This is something I didn’t really expect to happen and I’m glad it did. By that I mean it’s given more depth with Genshin and it makes it more interesting. Granted there are some people who “saw this coming” or said that “they aren’t the bad guys” and one person is Tectone, but for me it’s not like it was totally unexpected but something that caught me alittle off guard and gave me more enjoyment for the story.

Since then I now feel a bit bad for them and even attacking them. For Mihoyo to make us feel that way I said they say their job when it comes to writing and good story telling cus that’s what makes movies, books, and games have good story/writing is when they make us feel like we care. Even if it’s a little or just at the moment.

With all of that said, I still need those materials damnit

I believe and side with Dain on the subject of hilichurls. He knows the curse better than anyone else, and in the 500 years of existing, I believe what he was saying was, "The only way to end our suffering is by being killed." Killing the form people of Khanri'ah is the only way we, as the Traveller, can end their pain. This is the only way we can be sympathetic without siding with the sick and twisted intentions of Traveller's sibling. Traveller's sibling seems to be stuck in the past and can't move on from what has been done, similar to what we see with Ei's former views on Eternity. Staying in the past only brings pain and suffering to the person and people around them. This is the same with our world outside of Genshin Impact. Our regrets and distaste of what has happened in the past has more than often led to problems. If we can't move on from the past, we can never learn.

I've always felt weird about killing hilichurls even before the chasm archon quest, because its already been established they have their own language and culture. For some reason rpg or fantasy type stories seem to be really casual about killing a specific race as if they were animals despite being sentient, simply for being an inconvenience

I'm still hesitant to believe that Khaenriah is purely the victim in all this given how we have met Archons and don't seem like the evil gods that Dain as well as the other twin make them out to be.

Now it could be that the Archons found themselves in the middle of a war that they had no part of and thus lumped in with Celestia's actions; but something still seems off about the whole thing.

Genshin impact may have a reputation for waifus and gacha, but the real storyline is Attack on Titan level messed up.

I wonder what's the point of cursing someone like take sal vindagnyr as an example, we see a lawachurl named "ukko" who was a scribe and if people are just gonna perish anyway, why go to the lengths of cursing them?. Also we know that when skyfrost nail fell, the people didn't convert into hillichurls right away, rather the atmosphere was changed and i also wonder why destroy salvindagnyr or any civilisation in 1st place. I mean we can speculate about khaenriah that gold was doing some awful experiments and then gods had to take matter into their hands but then why curse them?
