I saw YouTuber Ruzga demonstrating Claude MCP, and I’m convinced that Claude MCP will surpass Cursor, Cline, and others—its capabilities are unmatched.

Postres/supabase mcp is great for many use cases like solving permissions issues, coming up with security strategies, looking at code and related tables - yes the agent can use the autogen types but database i find is useful for depth.

I like you’re figuring it out in real time, I’m like “yeah, I hit that same stupid issue.” MCP use case: You’re thinking about dev, but you can also use MCP in a production application to interact with API’s and control things in the real world. I’ll use it for an autonomous agent that confirms small business details for our app.

Instructions are cached (I"m at 14:40-14:46) per session/conversation
So once you change rules/instructions - you should clear/start a new conversation for them to apply - you learn that that's an issue with most LLMs if you've worked with OpenAIs Assistant API

I think of mcp more as a tool for an ai agent than for me to use. Eg go get dev docs, access an image generator, get the weather etc as part of an app backend.

Where are those MCP server actually installed? Or are those MCP servers provided by the corresponding suppliers and you are just connecting to them with Cursor?

Augment code just released and experimental Ai Agents which looks great and get close to the level of cursor and windsurf in a none Vscode Ide

I had the same reaction looking at adding some to Windsurf ... Cline does it better, why would I want to lookup a bunch of magic JSON files.
I mean there is already a github repo which lists most of the MCP servers, you shouldn't have to do any manual config ..

Hopefully this improves soon and they will all have a simple marketplace. Because how else are all the vibe coders supposed to figure this out?

if i click on add a new MCP server it opens me a json file and not the ui. i'm on the latest version of cursor

Saw you backing out of Sequential thinking when looking for something that was interesting. Are you not hyped on that MCP server? I saw some people really like it but I can't see how it's that much better than what the AI is already doing especially with thinking mode?
