Sir chidav, I have a very important question. Assuming a yam has broken dormancy and it has sprouted to like 1ft or 2ft, Pls do we need to cut off the already sprout before planting ? or there is a specific height we need to reduce the sprout to ?,

Okay, let's say I have a whole tuber of yam and it has broken dormancy and sprouting already from the head but I need to cut the yam to like 3 or places, do I still need to wait for the other parts too to start sprouting before planting them or does that same dormancy breaking from the head work for all??

Imagine planting only cuttings/seedlings that have broken dormancy, rather than wasting the months waiting for them to pass through it until they start to sprout. Am sure this way will reduce the planting to harvest cycle....what do you think sir?
